Directions Available

Thanks to Mel we’ve now got a finished directions map in PDF format available for download. If your not sure of your way then take a look. You can open or download the map from the directions page and there’s also a link to download free PDF reader software if you haven’t got any there already.

Make sure you take a look at the directions beforehand if you’re unsure where you going as Shrewsbury is a confusing little town and a jumble of one-ways systems.

If anyone would like a version of the map in another format (Word, GIF, JPEG, PNG) etc then let us know and we’ll sort it out.

R.S.V.P

Just in case some of you were waiting for the r.s.v.p form to appear on the site before you responded, it’s now up in the guests section, so if you haven’t already let us know your coming (or want to let us know again simply because you can) then go for it!

Shrewsbury Planning Day

Shrewsbury Castle

It’s getting close now with only eight weeks to go to the wedding. We spent today in Shrewsbury, first at a meeting with the events co-ordinator at the Lion Hotel (Vicki) to go over the details of the wedding breakfast. Following that Mel was off to the hair dressers just down the road for a hair trial and then down our florists to decide on the wedding flowers.

Managed to get some nice pics of the castle on my mobile phone while we were there, as last time we visited they had scaffolding covering the front of it. You can check out the pics on our Flickr pages and there’s a ‘taster’ for you here.

New Baby Girl for Tim and Tri

Congrats and best wishes to our friends Tim and Tri who’s new baby daugter Charlotte Emily Rose was born today weighing in at 8lb 13oz. Well done guys, now get some well deserved rest, we’ll see you both soon :-)

Wedding Gifts

Many of you have been asking about the wedding list as we didn’t send one with the invites. We decided not to go with a traditional list as our wedding list page explains.

Sarah and James’ New Arrival

Congratulations to Sarah and James on the birth of their new baby boy Thomas, born today and weighing in at 5lb and 4oz. Well done guys, hope we see you soon.

Let Us Know if Your Coming

We’ve not had a lot of responses yet. Admittedly we did make the classic mistake of not including a ‘reply-by-date’ which we considered but then forgot to include when we printed the invitation inners.

Don’t forget to write and let us know whether or not you can make it, and if you are coming to the ceremony and the wedding breakfast that follows, don’t forget that we need your menu choices back. If you don’t respond then you don’t get fed ;-)

We hope to hear from you all soon.

Egypt Info Arrived

Got back from work today to find the honeymoon info on the doormat which is great. We’re both getting really excited about it despite the fact there’s roughly nine months till we get to go! That’s nine months to brush up on our Arabic, read the guide books we bought on our last trip to Egypt, and figure out how to properly use the digital camera we bought awhile back.

Honeymoon is Booked

We’ve booked it, our honeymoon is all set. The deposit has been paid to the tour guides, Mel booked the flights last night and we’re already excited about it. Only trouble is we’ve got to wait till October for it! You can read about where we’re going and what we’re gonna be up to on the honeymoon page.

To help unwind after the wedding we’ve booked a few days away in the Lake District to put pur feet up and enjoy ourselves. We’ll be checking into the Applegarth Hotel for three nights from the Tuesday onwards. We’ll be taking in the sites, enjoying the walks, maybe trying our hand at sailing or some equestrian activites, sampling the local cuisine and ales, and hopefully we may even get a little sunshine and good weather while we there. Nice!

There’s More

The first of many more updates to the site. We’ve added content to the Accomodation page in the Info section, and content has started to appear in the Events bit as well with pages for the Stag Night, Ceremony and Reception details. There’s more to come so stay tuned.
